What to watch out for
Not every AI agent trend is a net positive for communities. Three risks deserve attention.
Agent spam. As agents become cheaper to deploy, bad actors will flood communities with autonomous bots that promote scam tokens, farm engagement, or harvest data. Communities will need agent-level filtering that goes beyond username and message content to evaluate behavioral patterns and on-chain credentials.
Over-automation. There's a temptation to let agents handle everything. But communities are fundamentally human spaces. A channel where every response comes from a bot — even a very good bot — will feel hollow. The projects that get this balance wrong will see engagement drop even as their response metrics improve.
Hallucination risk. General-purpose AI agents that aren't trained on project-specific documentation will invent answers.
